Reflections for Police Officer Dorelle C. Brandon
Police Officer Dorelle C. Brandon, I remember this like it was yesterday! I had attended your wake services in Chicago and it was so very sad. Many people cared about you! I thank you for your brave service to all of u. You were taken too soon! Rest in Peace, Sister.

I recently retired from the Evanston PD after 28 years. I mentioned in an earlier post how Officer Brandon's sacrifice in 1984 inspired me to serve selflessly as she did. Thank you Officer Brandon for all you did for the City of Chicago. I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

WHAT A DAY!!! THIS NEVER GETS EASY.... A DAY FULL OF TEARS and SADNESS BUT ALSO HONOR AND PRIDE! IT ALWAYS AMAZES ME TO SEE AND MEET THOSE WHO WOULD HAVE WORKED BESIDE YOU DURING YOUR TIME AS A PO. AT TIMES IT BRINGS ME BACK TO TEAR BUT THEN AGAIN IT BRINGS ME HAPPINESS AND JOY TO KNOW HOW THEY THOUGHT SO POSITIVE OF YOU. THOSE MOSTLY RECALL YOUR SMILE AND YOUR TACTICS..

Got the chance today to hold up Officer Brandon picture today in the St Jude Memorial March. It was an very honoring moment for me being an African American and seeing the reaction on Officers face as they pass by and saw Officer Brandon picture. I will never forget this day I’m proud to have become an Police Officer March 2018. After holding her picture all morning I got the chance to do some research on Officer Brandon she is now my Hero and idol. Thanks for your service and my condolences to your family
