Reflections for Police Officer Jason Scott Ellis

To the One who killed this brave soldier of peace and justice: You may have been able to escape the long arms of justice but I assure you, you will not escape God's justice. He knows who you are and will deal with you come judgment day.

Officer Ellis... Although we have never met I would like to thank you for your service. This is such a horrible act that was committed by such a cowardly person. Rest easy knowing that in this life or the next the individual responsible will pay the ultimate price. You are a true hero in every sense of the word and clearly a great man who was loved by many and is missed by all. I, like you, have a wife and son and put on this uniform every day not knowing if this will be the final inspection. Nothing will ever make the pain go away for your family but rest easy knowing that you are a warrior and your son will grow up to be a warrior, just like his father. This post is made with the utmost respect for you and your family. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Be easy brother...

I cry everytime I think about Officer Ellis, his family, friends, and fellow officers. My brother is an officer with the Louisville Metro Police. I know the honor and dedication my brother has for our community and his fellow officers. I also know the pride, and fear, our family has knowing the danger that comes with his service. We toasted to Officer Ellis at midnight on New Year's. My prayers are for justice and answers. I also pray for the safety of all our officers who unselfishly put their lives on the line every day, and for the families of these officers.

Every Kentuckian stands beside your brothers and sisters in blue and with your family and friends as we pray the suspect(s) is caught soon and receives the most severe punishment allowed by law. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you and your family and fellow officers and the pain they all are feeling, especially during the holidays. Thank you for your service and your dedication to the people of Bardstown, Kentucky.

Jason, it's been almost five months now and we still remember! We will not rest until the person(s) responsible are brought to justice. Seems like just yesterday we were sitting in front of BPD cracking jokes on a slow night. I will always cherish those days with you, Ray, Chris, and everyone else. It truly was an honor to know you, work with you, and to call you a friend. Keep watch over us from above brother! Rest Easy!!!

To the person who killed this officer: It seems like you have gotten away with murder but I guarantee you that God knows who pulled the trigger and he will ensure that he has the ultimate say in what happens to you. Please let this family have some peace and give yourself up, you have taken a good man from his family and community and now we are all living with what you did. There are no words to describe the pain and suffering you have caused so many people, but all of that can begin to heal if you step out of the shadows and man up to what you did. You are not a tough guy now, you are running like a scared rabbit and will look over your shoulder for the rest of your life. It isnt worth it, and you will grow old long before your time. Please do the right thing and come forward.

Everyday I wake up and pray that they catch the person who did this to you. Safety of all Police Officers are at risk until this coward is caught. If the person who did this to you is reading this I want them to know that every time they leave there house they should be looking over there shoulder and dont sleep so sound because you never know who will be knocking at your door. We will never stop looking for you. Officer Ellis Thank You for your sacrifice sir.

Jason, you were a fine representative from the Cincinnati area who made your mark as a career officer with the Barstown P.D.

I have visited your community since your death and have witnessed the depth of appreciation your community had for you. It is obvious that you were loved and respected by everyone.

Whatever our duty, or wherever we serve, we are all brothers and sisters in this most honorable calling. We have lost yet another brother who we must never forget.

My deepest sympathy to both his family and his law enforcement family. My thoughts and prayers are with them. May he rest in eternal peace.
