I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.

As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.

You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.

MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.

Very sad! It was AWESOME to see that hundreds of brothers & sisters from the Phoenix Police Department showed up at this fallen hero's daughter's graduation. Not having her daddy there was sad, but all those brothers & sisters showing up was the next best thing! These officers that showed up are hero's, as well.... "WAY TO GO PHOENIX POLICE DEPARTMENT!"

Daryl was in my academy class. I was always impressed with the way this young man carried himself. Always calm, always in control. He broke his primary hand during our qualification week for our firearms and he went out and qualified with his support hand. That about sums up his drive and dedication to this career. While we lost touch over the years, he will always be my brother. Your family will be there for your wife and daughter my friend. More than 300 came to her graduation this morning. I was proud to know you and serve with you.

I remember the last time I saw you. It was on 67th ave and Vineyard on a busy Saturday night. I was working 3rd shift and you were on 2nd shift. It was towards the end of your shift. We took a hot call together because the rest of squad was busy on other calls. We completed the call and "25ed" (met up). I asked you why you still out here working, I told you to go in and go home. You replied, I like being out here helping out.

I thought to myself why would he still be out here taking calls when the rest of his squad was back in the precinct miles away eating there fast food watching tv. But that's the kind of guys you were. A true Patrolman. Not thinking of yourself or watching the clock. You realized other officers needed help and you helped. Without being ordered too by a supervisor. I remember thanking you for helping me on the call so I wouldn't go in solo. You drove off north on 67th avenue in your Tahoe. Little did I know it would be the last time I saw you. It was months ago but I still remember it like yesterday.

They are too few of you in blue.

Rest in peace and watch over us.
