Reflections for Police Officer Daryl Michael Raetz

To Daryl's wife and child, you will forever be loved and cared for by Daryl's borthers and sisters in Law Enforcement. Please know that you will always be members of our family. Some of us wear blue, like your husband bravely wore. Others wear tan, brown, grey, green, some wear a shirt and tie - we are of one family.
Reach out to us and we will be there, regardless of agency affiliation.
To Daryl's brother's and sisters at the PHX PD. May you catch the coward who struck him down and bring the cur to quick and unmerciful justice.

On behalf of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Police Officer Daryl Raetz and the extended law enforcement family of the Phoenix Arizona Police Department. Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and law enforcement family. Far too many times we can be killed for foolish reasons. Was the driver of the suv, drunk, tired, have warrants/suspension, scared...it doesn't matter they are all trivial reasons. Officer Raetz served his country honorably as a veteran and further served his community as an officer. RIP sir, and thank you.

Daryl, two weeks ago we drank beer together for Selvs birthday and laughed for hours. It's surreal when you loose someone you know. Know your wife and daughter will be taken care of by your brothers and sisters of the Phoenix Police Department. You will never be forgotten. #8899 will now grace the walls of every precinct and the hearts of every officer. Watch over us and Godspeed my friend.
