Reflections for Master Deputy Sheriff Joseph "Shane" Robbins
Shane, the phrase "Brother from another Mother" could only touch the surface of how much I enjoyed working with you. I will miss our bantering back and forth. I know you are in a better place! Please keep watch over us... and make sure you get with Arnie and let some of your gift of gab rub off on him.

To my LOVE, I would trade anything to have you back in my life no matter how crazy our life was we always knew we were meant to be together. I want it all back the wonderful times and the bad, I want you to be the amazing Papa that you are, why did this happen to you? We had so much ahead of us. I am so thankful you touched so many people with your personality, your love of law enforcement and the ability to make terrible situations better. You are the one we all went to, you are my hero my rock. It is going to be impossible to do this on my own, but I promise you the dreams we had for our girls I will make sure they live those dreams and make you prouder than you already were of them. You gave them so much love and life you will continue to live through them. I will forever be thankful for everything you did for me and our beautiful children.

God watches closely those that pledge their lives to serve and protect the peoples. And God will comfort you, although it may not feel like it now. It always saddens me to hear of a police officer passing away. They are special people indeed, and are worthy of much more respect that they get. Keep your eyes on Jesus, He is coming soon. God bless you.

For Deputy Sheriff Joseph Robbins:
Our duty as law-officers is fraught with high-risk and driving on the highway is among these risks. The circumstances in traffic that can lead to death or serious bodily injury is always present. We do not know the facts of this incident, but it has little bearing upon the fact that tragedy occurred and that it can happen to any of us at any time. We shall remember "Shane" as a protector of the public and one who stood for peace and for justice.
We pray for Shane's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another at this time.
As a retired state trooper and retired Lake County (FL) deputy sheriff, I am proud to render Master Deputy Joseph Robbins, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.
