I thought this kind of senseless violence would stay in the Middle East when left Iraqi in 2004. No more explosions, no mass violence. Maybe some peace finally. I was 26 as a Sergeant in the United States Army then and didn't realize how very far it extended beyond 9/11. I was wrong, and I knew it then as well. Regardless of the risk we face all US law enforcement are determined to protect our nation, as I'm sure are the faithfull citizens of the United States of America. Officer Sean Collier lost his life protecting people. His death is such a loss but his purpose was beyond valiant, and is moreover courageous.
I am so very sorry for family and friends of Officer Collier, and prey that somehow God can disuage their irreplaceable loss.
I can say even now with no direct connection to him aside from law enforcement, that his striking passage affected me personally just as I am assured it has many others. All of our prayers and condolences are with him, his family, his colleagues, and the victims of the Boston bombings.
- Offered on behalf of myself, my family, and my fellow colleagues.

I feel sad for this officer, Sean Collier, and his family. He was doing the right thing and paid the ultimate price. Justice is in God's hands and the day will come when Officer Collier will stand before the Living God and be justified. My heart goes out to the family and friends who are left behind with the memories of a good and honorable man. May his family be blessed with the hope of God's peace.
