Officer Collier died protecting not only M.I.T. and Massachusetts, but all of America. R.I.P. Officer Collier and may your family have peace. I am a Boston area native. The attack on my hometown greatly saddens me, but the actions of our law enforcement officers makes me never more proud to be a police officer, a Bostonian, and an American. God Bless and job well done by the M.I.T. Police Department, the MBTA Transit Police Department, the Boston Police Department, the Watertown Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, the FBI, the Massachusetts National Guard and all other first responders.

To the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Collier,
I'm a volunteer/part time LEO in New Jersey and have been for the last 18 years. Unlike most officers, I stumbled into law enforcement at a late age but now know that it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. As I read about Sean , not only on the site but on other sites (MIT, etc.) I can but only say that I am very humbled, honored and privileged to call you my brother in blue. I will do my best as I continue in law enforcement to have the same passion, dedication and spirit that you had for law enforcement and life. May you rest in peace and I will meet you on the other side

Officer Collier, You have joined the ranks in Heaven of many who have gone before you. Rest well in the arms of God.
To Your Family:
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray,
“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”
I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over two years. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

Many people viewing footage and reporting what they observed first-hand at the marathon after the explosions, have been impressed at how quickly the police reacted, with no hesitation, running towards danger, in the line of duty, while others were running away. No doubt, Sean Collier sensed danger when he responded to that call, there is also no doubt that he responded anyways and did his duty without hesitation. His family should be very proud that he served the community and risked his life for it.
