Don,
I had the pleasure of working with you while you were my dispatcher, and the joy of watching you as you made your way through Tech's police academy while still working full time dispatcher hours. Your desire to become one of us always stuck with me as an impressive feat of desire and heart.
Hearing about your death this morning was painful, but after time to think, I am happy that I got a chance to know you, and be there as you achieved your dreams of becoming a police officer. Your desire to serve others, and the pleasure you took in doing your job will be an inspiration to all of us left behind.
I will always think of you and your legacy while doing my job. You were truly an example for the rest of us. Rest easy my brother, we will take it from here.
I am sure many people upstairs are already laughing at your great sense of humor. May you always watch down on on all of us you knew and keep us safe.

City of Mequon Police Department

No expects such a young guy to die in that manner, but it happens and in this line of work, it happens too often. It's truly sad and tragic for all involved.

May Officer Bishop sleep well in Heaven and may God keep his family safe. God Bless, Brother.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Matthew 5:9

To the family and Fiancee... We all struggle to understand why God allows this to happen... to the kind at heart, the young, the brave. The comfort comes when we see that God has called Don home for his final "call for service", to bring us closer to each other and to God himself. I didn't know you before, but now we are family. I will pray for your comfort and peace as you are surrounded by your new L.E. family this week.

I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.

As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.

You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.

MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.
