Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Sergeant Kenneth William Hayden

Wow. Your brother and I played high school baseball against each other. You, my brother, {a FWPD officer} played on a slow pitch softball team that won a City Championship. The following year I joined the FWPD. You were a traffic sergeant at the time. My third day on the street, 1983, you gave me your Traffic Crash pocket template with the leather pouch. I retired in January 2020 and that template was in my left breast pocket my whole career. I stll have it. You were good to me as a team mate and even better as a human being. I will never forget you.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 24th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
