Rest in peace Sheriff Brady.

Sheriff Brady: Thanks to you and your deputy for your service to your county and state. Your sacrifice is appreciated. A word to Robert Heasley:
No Sheriff and or deputy who are gunned down in the line of duty deserve a death sentence for carrying out their duties--regardless of what occurred or what you think happened. This forum is to honor the sacrifice of fallen law enforcement officers and you are obviously not sensitive to same. Billy the Kid and his cohorts murdered numerous peace officers and Sheriff Brady and his deputy are not here to defend themselves. It was a different time and there is always two sides to every story but in the meantime I suggest you find a different forum to vent your opinion.

Sheriff Brady, you were on the take and you were corrupted. You accepted bribes and collected on blood money.
By doing this, you got what you deserved and you let all 9 of your kids down. For the rest of eternity yes you shall be remembered... But not as a hero.
You ARE remembered as a corrupt Sheriff with no sense of fairness. You put your needs above all else and you failed in your service to protect the very people who you were charged with protecting.
That is the truth... and that is how you are and shall be forever remembered by.

I am also proud to be a distinct descendent of Sheriff Brady. The cowardly “Kid” who shot my grandfather in the back never knew of; or much cared about the grief and hardship his actions bestowed upon the Brady family and his other victims. It’s a sad reflection upon our society that there are those that honor killers and criminals who engage in actions outside of the rule of law.

Sheriff William Brady and Deputy George Hindman's loss in the line of duty should never be forgotten. Governor Richarson's consideration of a pardon for outlaw and murder Billy the Kid is not right. Many should right Governor Richarson and let him know this would be wrong.

I am honored to bear the Brady name even if we are not related. Sheriff Brady was an American to make all Americans proud.

In reading the various accounts and the accumulated documnentation regarding my grandfather, I don't believe that he (Sheriff Brady) was represented right in regard to his heroism and courage in the face of the current circumstances of his time. It is my desire to thank all of those law enforcement officers who sacrifice their lives daily for the peace and safety of their communities in which they serve. God bless all of you and your families who have also paid the ultimate sacrifice.

It is too sad that we remember the name 'Billy the Kid', but not all the names of those who fell victim to him.
It has been a long time since you fell, but your courage is not forgotten. I honor your bravery and sacrifice for the State of New Mexico.
