Reflections for Detective Jeremiah Alan MacKay
I saw his name on the sculpture outside City Hall and had to look him up - my heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to his family - he is now protecting those in heaven

My deepest condolences to the family, members of the department, and those served, at the loss of this officer. May faith, family, friends and time join together to ease everyone’s pain at this time of loss.
While many other career choices were certainly available, this officer chose to protect his fellow man, and for this we give everlasting thanks. As the Good Lord hath said, “Blessed are the Peacemakers.”
Thank you for your service, your convictions and moral character, as well as your devotion to duty. May you now rest in peace, knowing your fellow brothers and sisters will watch over your family and continue the Watch!

Today at our nieces graduation from the Carroll County Sheriff's Department in Maryland they had bags on the stage with sand in them, a battery operated blue light, and the name, picture and info of an officer killed in our country this year. We are honored to have received a bag with Detective Jeremiah MacKay's name on it and tonight we will place it on our porch with the light on in his memory. May his family and friends find peace.

Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace through such incidents & He will judge the guilty. May family & friends feel the presence of the "God of All Comfort" as they endure the distressing days ahead. I join them in their agonizing grief & remember them in my prayers.
Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.
Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.
Relief from heartache’s torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.
Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There’s a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.
We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven’s gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.
The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
And we recall in comfort
You await us there.

I will never forget that day, losing a sheepdog and a true hero. I can remember that horrible radio traffic, and the words I never wanted to hear. I thank you for what you did that day, you saved many lives and including mine. Although I never met you, that day on that mountain I knew we wore the same badge and were part of the SBCSD family. I pray for your family and you! That you watch over them and watch over us sheepdogs. You will never be forgotten! This is not good bye but see you later.

Your work is done here on Earth - Heaven has called upon you today, leaving so many words left to say. But now it's too late, for your time has come, words unspoken; I am sure everybody has some. Regrets and wishes are probably there too, but lasting forever are memories of you.
There have been many times that we waved to each other, but we were there for each other in time of need. Now it's time for us to say Good-Bye, until we meet again in heaven to fly. Now go and Patrol the Heavens Above and Watch Below those you Love. Thank you for your service.

Detective McKay, You have left this earth and are alive and well in the Presence of God.
To Your Family,
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with loving, caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name, Amen”
I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for the past two years. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

Rest in peace brother, your life was not lost in vain. God bless the family, friends, and co-workers of all these officers who died at the hands of a deranged former brother in arms. Odd to me that the article never calls the "subject" Dorner by name!?!

As a citizen of Los Angeles and a supporter of law enforcement everywhere; These recent days and losses have left us numb; in shock and ill inside. The greater our losses, the more we must come together to share this burden. The magnitude of this darkness defies the search for words to express our pain. With tears and the utmost respect for the loss and the pain that those closest to this madness must endure. In The Name of All That Is Good, may you find strength. Dear Almighty God. Please help us.
