If not for these tragic events that took your life, we would have eventually enjoyed your presence and participation playing your pipes during the annual Police Memorial Week Parade in Virginia City. May you rest in peace, play to your heart's content, and know that your work here on earth will always be remembered and appreciated. We'll raise a glass in your honor.

My deepest condolence to the family of Detective MacKay and to the entire San Bernardino Sheriff Department as well as to Sheriff John McMahon. The death of both Detective MacKay and Officer Crain is truly sad and totally senseless. Webster's Dictionary defines the word as "Without sense or meaning: Lacking sense." Both Officer Crain and Detective MacKay should be alive today, but sadly they both died senselessly. To the families of Detective MacKay and Officer Crain, know that Jeremaih and Michael are now in a better place as they both will look over their respective families and guard over each one of their Love Ones from Heaven. Again, my deepest and most sincere condolence to the immediate family of Detective MacKay and to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department, as well as to the immediate family of Officer Crain and to the Riverside Police Department.
