As a retired Officer who spent 14 years working as a patrol officer for Denison P.D. I passed the spot you were murdered literally thousands of times and never knew of your sacrifice. I am honored to have served in the same capacity and honor your memory. Thank you for paving the way for me and the other officers and setting the example of service and sacrifice. I served from 12-01-77 to 1-17-92

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 131rst anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I also note that you served in the Confederate Army along with my known ancestors in the terrible war that divided our country, and I know that you fought and no doubt suffered for what you considered your homeland and family.

mom of fallen Pittsburg (CA) officer Larry Lasater
