Chris, as I reflect on how you changed so many lives. The smile has been the talk, but I ran a lot of DC calls a few years ago where you made a feeble attempt of being upset. I laughed at you trying to be "hard". So not you bro. You are a true hero and I will miss you. I could probably leave a million reflections as we all could. Way too soon brother. Miss you already.
Officer P Brunelle.

Whether its Officer Yung of PWCPD, Sergeant Yung of the USMC (forgive me if you were promoted), or Chonkie; no matter what you are called by your friends and co-workers, they are all one and the same guy.
Stern but light hearted, the consumate professional and a pleasure to be around.
While it has been some time since we last met, the loss does not hurt any less. You are a good friend and a good man. You will be missed.

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain; but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.

No words can ever describe the hell I know his family, friends and co-workers are going through right now. No words can express the sorrow and sympathy I feel right now for you all as you deal with the loss of your hero.
Officer Yung, just reading the reflections and articles on you over the last two days, I feel you were the type of police officer that defines a true hero!! Your pics show a man who is kind, charismatic and someone who loved his job.
My heart also goes out to LEU, knowing you have all lost a second member in as many years. I wish there was more I could say or do for all of you as well.
Rest in peace Officer Yung, you will be remembered always for your great sacrifice.

No greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
We know not the reason why that tragic things happen when they do. I pray for your family, that God send angels to hold you up as he did his Son Jesus in the coming days, weeks and months ahead. Your family will be in our prayers.

I was driving home from work on Monday and I saw the crash. I had to go a different way home. When I got home I turned on the news to see what had happened. I heard a Pr. William County Motorcycle officer had been killed. I thought to myself I hope that was not officer Yung. I had been given a speeding ticket by Officer Young in Sept. and asked if I could get out of my vehicle. We talked for a little while. I too remember what a professional man he was and he did have an infectious smile. I remember he kept saying go to court and I will help you out. I did go to court. I took the traffic school and really learned alot. I am saddened by his loss. He was someone I will always remember. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May he rest in peace.

You were the police officer any supervisor would want “ten more just like you.” All of the comments posted so far are absolutely accurate. Committed, skilled, humble, an outstanding communicator, superior work ethic, and that infectious smile so many have commented on. After you were selected for motors, I recall at least a dozen times I’d teasingly ask in passing if you were ready to come back home (to District patrol). In your gracious manner you made it clear you had found a new home and were having the time of your life. The chief of police himself would have had to fight you to take that motor away.
I regularly view this site and have on a number of occasions posted comments that symbolically close with “we have the watch from here.” Never have those words been so literal as this time – Rest in Peace, Chris. We indeed have the watch from here.

As a fellow public safety professional, we all know the risks, challenges and sacrifices we make to be an emergency service provider. My heart goes out to his family who I understand are also police officers here in Prince William County. The family and the community have lost a true hero; someone who serves with pride in his community. R.I.P. Officer Yung, your work here on earth is done....god bless..!
