Officer Davis,
On today, the 121st anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of New Jersey. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer.

Today marks the 119th anniversary of your death at the hands of a young punk. Though the final fate of your killer are not made known here, though he be just a boy, no doubt he never went down the right path later in life and I can only hope he found true justice, if not in this life, then in the next.

As and early guardian of the young, an educator and protector, you helped pave the way for School Police and other Campus Police that followed. For that, we should all be grateful. For your sacrifice, I cannot thank you, but I respect you. Thanking you for dying seems wrong.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 117th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
