The wife he left behind was my grandmother. He left behind 2 sons and 1 daughter, and my grandmother was expecting their 4th child at the time it happened. My grandmother re married and she had 4 more children, one being my mother. I feel like I knew him through them. His name lives on because he has grand children and they have children with his name. It is a horrible thing to shoot our law enforcement, and to only get 6 years for it is a slap in the face. Thank you Border Patrol. He only has 1 son still living and he never got a chance to know his dad. Thank you for this page.

Constable Ward,
Sir, it has taken over 70 years but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Johnson County. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. It sickens me that your murderer was only sentence to six years in prison.
