His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

To the family and friends and co-workers of Officer Larry Stell, you have my most sincere heartfelt sympathy....He was a very special person and I always thought kindly of him...I will never forget I was in the parking lot one day when he arrived for duty (an hour early) and he hollerd, "Ms. Sapp...come look at what I just bought my wife for Christmas"...so I did....and he (Mrs. Stell) had purchased a pair of gold earrings for you....and he was as excited as a child on Christmas morning....I asked him once if you liked them and he told me you did....Please hold those wonderful memories close to your heart, forever, as I will always think of him as the kind and faithful person that he truly was.....I pray that he is resting in peace now....I think of him each day and my heart breaks for everyone who knew him.....He was a TRULY special, wonderful and giving person.....I read Warden Harts' comment....that Officer Stell thought he could make a difference at Telfair....I wish he had never gone, however God had another plan for him....He did make a difference....He will be FOREVER remembered as my Hero....to this department! May God Bless you as you move forward in this life....I'm sure you will never be the same, however, Officer Stell will always be in our hearts!

I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization.
As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
I have given my life so that others may live in peace.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.
You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.

Thoughts and prayers of comfort to those left behind through this season of hurt. There are no special words that can be said in the loss of a loved one. However, in time may there be a comfort, that only our father in heaven provides.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Matt 5:9
