Only knew Larry, through my son Jesse Griffin, they went to Brewton Parker College together! I have fond memories of Larry! He was always nice and was ready to talk about Jesus! He will be missed by many!

The Department was saddened to learn of the loss of one of our own officers. Correctional Officer Larry Stell died in the line of duty at Telfair State Prison the night of October 11, 2012.

On behalf of the men and women of the Georgia Department of Corrections, we extend our sincerest sympathy to Officer Stell’s family.

This is a very difficult time for us at the Department, as well as the law enforcement community.

Please keep the family and friends of Officer Stell in your thoughts during this very difficult time.
