Larry and I became friends in college 22 years ago. Although we have been far away from each other at times, we have always managed to keep in touch with him. When I heard the news, I was devastated. I thought,"How could the man I just talked to last night now be with God tonight?" He was such a sweet person and loved the Lord and his wife, Paula with all his heart. He never had an unkind word for anyone and always lifted everyone up with his personality and zest for life. I will miss you my friend.

As a correctional officer and supervisor for the GDC and CCA as well, and as a co-worker of Correctional Officer Stell I graciously offer my heart-felt prayers and thoughts to his family and the fellow staff members at TSP. I know what it's like to lose a duty comrad and the emotional, mental and physical strain that this type of tragedy can bring into an institution and what it can do to the moral of the staff. I pray for peace and comfort to all that it's affected.

My prayers of peace to the family of Officer Stell.
Officer Stell chose to enter those walls each shift and place his life on the line while protecting all of us from the underbelly of this society.
No one knows, but the officer who walks this post, the danger with which we deal each day. Officer Stell - we have your watch covered, you may join our Father in Heaven and those heroes that have gone before.
Remove your duty belt and revel in the glory around you. May you rest in peace!

Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
When tragedy comes you can find your spirit man crying out ..oh I wish it wasn't sooo..this is certainly one of those times ....
May the spirit of God come in like a flood to release the tension ,the anger ,the hurt and replace it with added peace and comfort in Jesus name amen....

"We live in world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men..."
I send them to you and forget them. I neglect to think of the men and women that must guard them and protect the rest of us once they are under your watch. No more. Your service is invaluable and shall no longer be taken for granted. Thank you for "standing your post."
