Reflections for Deputy Sheriff J. W. "Jim" Johnson
As a result of this loss of life, three children of his children, Orene, Martha and Mae were raised in the Masonic Home for Children in Macon, Ga. His wife, Vera, kept the baby James Jr to raise at home.

This is a great memorial for my Great Grandfather. My grandmother Martha Johnson Kimble was his daughter. Thanks for giving some truth to the stories that have been passed down.

Thank You ODMP,
This is my Great Grandfather, I have searched for years regarding his history. My Grandmother, Nettie Mae Johnson Mays was only 6 years old when he was killed. The 3 girls were sent to the Masonic Home in Macon, GA and my Great Uncle Jim only a baby at the time stayed with my Great Grandmother Vera Fallin Johnson until adulthood. The children although separated were very close as adults and myself, siblings, Mother, Aunt, Uncle and many Cousins were able to also stay close through the years. I am interested in finding the history of his parents.
My Heartfelt Thanks to his memory,
Mary J. Harris
