It is never easy to say goodbye to a young brother in blue. I too served in the Virgin Islands Police Department for nine and a half years, and lost some friends there along the way. God has a special place for you in heaven. Rest brother, your tour has ended but not without appreciation of your sacrifice and you will not be forgotten.

Still in shock right now....can't believe the news that I woke up to this morning. I got the news from a text on my phone and a phone call. But the strange thing is that we (the girls in the office) were just talking about you yesterday and the weirdest thing about it is that you came to me in my dream like your normal self and said “Newton, what’s going on? Everything ok with you? I see you sti
ll on fire (referring to the red hair). I just hailing you up and I have to go, so be safe and I will see you when we meet up again. ” All I could do was laugh because every time you saw me and hailed me, you always had some craziness to say. Colvin, God saw you suffering and said “No more my son” and called you home. Rest in eternal peace Colvin my colleague, my brother in blue. As our friend, your partner, your classmate, Tiffany Tyson said “you fought a good fight and will always be my HERO!! You are at peace so I am at peace.” You will be truly missed but never forgotten.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
This truly a testament, sleep well my brother till we meet again.

Police Officer Colvin Georges,
I know that you are alive and well in the presence of God.
To your family,
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with loving, caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name, Amen”
I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for 19 months. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.
