Reflections for Police Officer Colvin Terrance Georges, Sr.

My deepest condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of Police Officer Colvin Georges on behalf of my family and I.

Officer Georges was an exemplary Officer who was dependable, showing daily that he truly cared for the community he served. He paid the ultimate price for each of us, the people of the United States Virgin Islands.

We as a community must support our Law Enforcement Officers and do our part in ensuring that occurrences like this never happens again, not only to our Law Enforcement Officers, but to our citizens. Each of us MUST do our part each and every day.

Again, our deepest condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of Police Officer Colvin Georges. Take comfort in knowing that he suffers no more and is resting peacefully in the arms of God Almighty.

Thank you Colvin for your service in keeping people like me and others safe, god bless you. I came to St. Thomas not long ago on my honeymoon. All of the Police officers I came in contact with were very kind and nice to tourists like me. I felt safe with the Police presence everywhere I walked and biked. St. Thomas is truely a good island for tourism. I can't thank you enough for your Heroism in keeping it safe. Thank you and RIP my brother, you shall never be forgotten.

Officer Colvin Georges you entered our beloved "Virgin Islands Police Training Academy on August 24, 2009. After several weeks of intense training, you graduated from the Virgin Islands Police Academy in January of 2010.

As a rookie officer, your supervisors described you as sponge, eager to learn and willing to learn your law enforcement craft. You were reliable, always to work on time, and never reporting sick for duty.

During your yearly probationary period I had the priviledge of observing you as a rookie officer when you where assigned to St. John at Leander Jurgen Command where I was the Deputy Chief of Police. What I observed as the Deputy Chief was kind, considedrate, and most efficient junior officer.

A year later as the Chief of Police for the St. Thomas/St. John District of the Virgin Islands Police Department I observed a young officer becoming a model officer of this department. His committment to Duty set an example for all of us to follow.

Unfortunately, during his tour of duty with the VIPD Special Response Team on Saturday May 26, 2012, Colvin and his partner K-9 Officer Aaron Hodge were shot. Colvin was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida for injuries he sustained to his spinal cord which left him paralyzed from the neck down.

On Saturday, September 29, 2012, Police Officer Colvin Georges passed away.

Condolences to the Georges Family! Police Officer Colvin Georges Thank You for your service, dedication, and sacrifice.
You will be truely missed but never forgotten!
You left us doing what you chose to do, what you were trained to do, serving your community making it a better and safer place.

Police Officer Colvin Georges should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! May you rest in Peace!

Chief of Police Darren M. Foy
Virgin Islands Police Department/St. Thomas-St. John District

Praying that you'll sense God’s presence
In this time of grief
And feel God’s love surrounding you
And know His inner peace
For God cares so much for you
And wipes each tear you cry
You never need to feel alone
For He’ll never leave your side

God hold the Georges family in your arms and comfort them. There is a special place in heaven I believe for people who give the ultimate sacrifice for protecting their fellow brothers and sisters. There is also a special place in hell I believe for those that take the life of those that were sworn to protect and serve their fellow man. You can not blame the law enforcers for being such bad asses anymore , not with what evils they now must face everyday they walk out their doors. GOD please protect and direct all law enforcers everywhere, keep them from harms way and give them the power over the evil that is out there.God Bless Colvin Georges. AMEN. !

I'm There Inside Your Heart...

Right now I'm in a different place,
And though we seem apart,
I'm closer than I ever was...
I'm there inside your heart.

I'm with you when you greet each day
And while the sun shines bright,
I'm there to share the sunsets, too...
I'm with you every night.

I'm with you when the times are good,
To share a laugh or two
And if a tear should start to fall...
I'm always there for you.

And when that day arrives
That we no longer are apart,
I'll smile and hold you close to me...

FOREVER in my Heart.....
