I am deeply saddened by the LOD death of Police Officer Jason Gresko. The heartfelt appreciation of a truly grateful American citizen goes out to his family and friends. He served honorably and faithfully, answering the call of duty when he was needed.
Please express my sympathy and deepest condolences to his family, and that they are in my prayers during this time of grief. He is a true hero, and I hope the fact that he is honored by so many brings them some comfort in this time of loss. May they feel the comfort and love from across this nation embrace them and hold them up during this difficult time. We will not forget him and will forever be in his debt for what he has done for us.
Please let the members of the Willoughby Police Department know they are in my prayers during this dark time as they continue the mission of making our world a safer place. To each of you I say a big “Thank You” for doing what you do everyday. Thank you for going into “the office” when you don’t feel like it. Thank you for working the night shift when we are safe in bed. Thank you for putting on that uniform everyday. Thank you for working holidays. Thank you for going through doors when you know what can be behind them. Just know that there are thousands and thousands of people this very moment praying for your department. You are in my prayers.

TO THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES OF OFFICER JASON GRESKO.
My heart is filled with great sadness at learning of the lost of your loved one and fellow Officer.
We in the law enforcement community are a family.
Though we may wear different uniforms and have different badges, shields or stars pinned upon our chest.
We consist of many different agencies from across the nation, for we are Municipal Police Officers, Sheriff's Deputies, State Investigators, State Highway Patrol Troopers, Conservation Officers, Correctional Officers and Federal Agents.
We patrol small towns, large cities, county roads and state highway.
Whether active duty or retired, we are one family, a law enforcement family, brothers and sisters bonded together by HONOR, SERVICE and PRIDE.
Daily we honor our fallen brothers and sisters never forgetting their sacrifice.
Daily our position is clear that we will SERVE and PROTECT our communities without faltering and with no hesitation.
Daily we show pride in our chosen profession LAW ENFORCEMENT, for we willingly walk the line of good over evil facing the unknown with courage keeping our trust and faith in GOD.
We know that evil roams these streets and at any moment in the course of performing our duties the ultimate sacrifice might be required of us in the service to our community, for law enforcement is not a job but a calling and only a few will make the decision to commit to that calling to serve for some will give all that they have.
I commend you my fallen brother for making the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of your duty.
For you left us doing what you chose to do.
Performing a job you were trained to do.
Upholding the oath you swore to do.
Most importantly doing what you loved to do........SERVING and PROTECTING your community with HONOR and PRIDE making a better and safer place or us all.

Jason was a great friend, co-worker, father, and husband as I am sure his wife will tell you. He loved his job and his family. One full-time Police Officer job wasn't enough for him, he served two communities. My heart breaks every time I think about his 2 y/o daughter and his family he loved so very much. His last post on facebook prior to the incident was a couple days before on 9/19 stating "Home Safely, Goodnight". If only he could have written that on 9/21 also. You will never be forgotten. R.I.P. Brother!! #63(WPD) / #32(CCPD)
