His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

With tears, respect and prayers for strength.
Love is eternal and timeless. It transcends all things such as time; space and even death.
There is no greater service than to protect the weak; the young; the old; the ill; the frail and the powerless. To guard and to enforce what is right, which is beyond the laws of man and transcends Upward to The Laws of God; to do what is fair and to fight in this eternal struggle of good and evil. No one chooses to be a hero but they become one by choosing to enforce doing the right thing and to protect what is good and who is good.
Those that have moved on to end of trail and to where new trails begin, understand our tears but are saddened by our grieving. They say to us: “It hurts me so, to see you cry and I ask you to remember the many happy days we had together; they were the best days of my life and I am grateful The Lord Gave us Those Gifts. My heart lifts when I look down and see the smiles on your faces, when you remember those days and that laughter we shared together.”

I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization.
As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
I have given my life so that others may live in peace.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.
You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.

Gene,
I did not know you as well as some others here. I did have the honor of attending several in-service classes with you when you were with the sheriff's office. Your love of and dedication to law enforcement was very apparent and you were one of the best. You will never be forgotten.
To the DeMuth family, may God wrap his love and peace around you and give you comfort during this difficult time. To the NCSHP, especially Troop C District 1, Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and may God comfort all of you and give you peace.

I am so hurt and dismayed for this gentleman and his family. I saw him outside in his yard as I passed and made sure I kept my eyes on his cruiser to ensure that he was not on patrol as I stay only a few houses down from him. I cannot seem to get him off my mind. I knew him but I did not know him if you can understand that. Rest in peace and your services will be remembered.

As a retired State Trooper I am always amazed at the courage of all Police Officers who put their lives on the line daily to protect the citizens of our Country. You Sir are one of the few who willingly gave your life for the protection of innocent citizens.
They count on all Police Officers from their protection. May God give you His eternal reward with Him in Heaven and a special place for those who give their lives for others. Your family, Friends and Fellow Officers know that you are now at peace with Almighty Father in His place for those who show so much love that they put their lives on the line that others may live.
