God full of mercy who dwells on high
Grant perfect rest on the wings of Your Divine Presence
In the lofty heights of the holy and pure
who shine as the brightness of the heavens
to the soul of Kenyon Youngstrom who has gone to his eternal rest.

His resting place shall be in the Garden of Eden
Therefore; the Master of mercy will care for him
under the protection of His wings for all time
And bind his soul in the bond of everlasting life.
God is his inheritance and he will rest in peace
and let us say AMEN.

And so we can’t be there at Christmas time
And we leave on the birthdays because our radios chime.
But never forget that we’d rather be there
Because we never forget that you’re always there.

And we’ll go chase the devil at 100 plus
Then change somebody’s tire with no fuss.
You think you’ll never need us, the whole day through
But we’ll come rollin’ when you actually do.

And you’ll never see the tears, they fall, they do
Because of all of the things that we see and do.
Blood on the roads and on all the faces
They all take their toll as our "30" races.

And too often we gather to bury our own
And it cuts us deep down to the bone.
We lay them down right into the ground
And we salute as the pipes give their sound.

And we stuff our pain into our heart’s bag
As we watch the widows receive that flag.
Because there’s little time to unburden the load
When tomorrow we have to return to the road.

But we remember the ones who have passed
Because the badge of gold will forever last.
Because honor can not be bought or sold
When it’s you who bleeds the blue and gold.

Tans on the outside and pride within
As we deal with the evil and all the sin.
We'll always pay the price, the pain and the toll
Because we wear the badge of the Highway Patrol

We remember the ones who have given their lives before us in service of our great State and greater Nation. We remember the men and women who took the Oath and eventually laid down their lives rather than swerve from the path of duty. We will gather this week to celebrate and bury one more. One more who will be added to the fountain and one more to be remembered by the sounding of The Bell. It is our greatest tribute that we shall never forget them.
