I am always saddended to see a fellow officer fallen whether retired or on duty. I always hoped to never see an officer from my department fall or an officer from the town I grew up in (Tompkinsville Kentucky) but reality is what we do as officers influence the rest of our lives. My understanding is Chief Proffitt was an influence on my father and I thank him for that.
