Reflections for Police Officer Joshua Stanley Williams
JW though I dindn't know you but I have heard wonderful stories about you ,and the other fine Officers of the Waxahachie Police Department from Ryan Cate when he worked out here in West, Texas. As always no matter what the name of the City or County. Or the State that is written on the Shield or the Star. We are still an Extended Family, and today our Family is very very saddened by the loss of Officer Josh Williams.
Father in heaven,
Even though my heart is heavy with grief, I want to praise Your holy name. You are an awesome God. You spoke and the world was created. I give You all glory and honor for who You are. I worship You alone.
I thank You that you know my pain and sorrow. Your Word says “as a mother comforts her child, You comfort us.” I ask that You be my comfort today. Help me to sense Your presence and Your peace.
Help me to reach out and comfort others as You Father, have comforted me.
In Jesus name, amen.

To the family of Josh Williams, I am truly sorry for your loss. I know and live your pain everyday as my brother who has suffered the same fate is in peace along with Josh and is resting with "Our Heavenly Father." I will not pretend to know Ofc. Williams or try too, but I will be real about my experience thus far in hopes it may offer some solace. Forgive me if I offended you the reader, it is not my intention.
To the family member or close friend that reads this message wondering why during this time of mourning and the beginning of healing you’re not alone. Many unfortunately have suffered the same whether it is officers on duty or innocent civilians and there is just no explanation to make it right, this you know. All I can say is to honor him with all your hearts and live for him now as the road ahead will get harder. I say this because I have lost in the same and there is no wrong or right way to get through this, just do your best to get through the days. Some days will be long and some will be short. A long period of time will even pass as you perceive it to be short and then you come to, wondering where you've been and in disbelief in how much time has passed. If you should lose yourself, its ok you’re human. You feel, you hurt, and you wish… you hope. That is the difference of good people, you have hope…embrace it. You yourself are the only one that can pull yourself out of the hole you have been pushed down so abruptly. You yourself are the only one that can keep yourself from falling, through hope. It may be awhile before you find your bearings again just don’t forget you have the gift of hope.
To my brother in blue I will not know you in this life nor may I have ever known you. But I know your cause and I continue to service in the same as you did in my city. I pray your agencies brothers and sisters will overcome. I pray your family will heal in time and cease to mourn but honor, honor you and give thanks to God that you are now home that is the beauty out of this ugly mess.
Sincerely,
Lorenzo Hernandez Jr.

To the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Josh Williams.
My heart is filled with great sadness at the lost of your loved one and fellow officer.
We in the law enforcement community are a family, whether you wear a Badge, a Shield or a Star upon your chest, whether you work in a small town or a large city, whether you work in Detention Facilities or out on Patrol, whether active duty or retired, we are family, a law enforcement family, a band of brothers having walked the line of good over evil knowing that at any moment in the course of performing our duties the ultimate sacrifice might be required of us in the service to our community.
For Law Enforcement is not a job but a calling and only a few will make the decision to commit to that calling for some will give all that they have.
I commend you my fallen Brother for making the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of your duty.
For you left us doing what you chose to do.
Performing a job you were trained to do.
Upholding the oath you swore to do.
Most importantly doing what you loved to do.....serving your community making a better and safer place for us all.
