Officer Goodson,
Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice. During my travels today I happened to stop in Lumberton at the Chick-Fil-A near I-95. I saw a portrait of a horse drawn funeral procession, that was obviously law enforcement related, proudly displayed at the entrance of the restaurant. I asked a young employee about the portrait and he told me about your sacrifice and recited your name without hesitation. It was obvious to me that you must have played, and still play, an important role in your community. I want your family to know you are not forgotten and still positively thought of in your community.
Rest in Peace

Officer Goodson,
You went above and beyond the call of duty in attempting to get this perpetual felon off the street. We all mourn the loss of another hero but may you watch over us from on high. God bless your family and fellow officers during this tragic time and let them reflect on the husband, father, son and officer they knew and loved.
