Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace through such incidents. May family & friends feel the presence of the "God of All Comfort" as they endure the distressing days ahead. I join them in their agonizing grief & remember them in my prayers.
Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.
Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.
Relief from heartache’s torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.
Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There’s a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.
We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven’s gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.
The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
And we recall in comfort
You await us there.

Wings To Heaven-
Each day they are pushed through the wind-
propelled on wings of steel and fire,
insulated from nature by only leather and chrome.
The mission they complete is to protect those who occupy hurling shells of steel from the very vehicles they occupy.
They choose not to be contained indoors. They would not trade the tradition, the sound of wind on the helmet or the feel of the highway for climate control, insulation, or all the deep pile carpet Detroit can assemble.
Generations of pride and heritage ride with them each day. Many generations of Motor Officers have a life time of tales and experiences that will be told by his children and grandchildren for many years to come. For a few families, the tales will bring a tear from their eyes and pain in their heart. When the tears begin to dry, and the intense pain becomes a chronic ache, the realization becomes clear that this man did not only choose a profession of honor and service. He not only gave his life for that service, but each day he lived his life as his heart told him to live it. The motorcycle that propelled him in his duties was not just a machine that he needed to do his work, It was a symbol of his way of life. The wings that propelled him to complete his tour each day, were not just the wings of steel that he rode, but the wings of freedom that he felt in his heart. He has broken the bounds of the Earth and ridden those wings to Heaven. He will ride in our hearts forever. Unknown Author

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Please don’t cry
I’m not really gone
When you look out the window
I’ll be standing on the lawn
Please don’t cry
I’ll see you again
Don’t be sad
Keep up your chin
Please don’t cry
I’m not really dead
When you cry yourself to sleep
I’ll be by your bed
Please don’t cry
Just because we had to part
As long as you remember me
I’ll live in your heart
Please don’t cry
I’m not gone forever
I’ll be a cool and gentle breeze
In hot summer weather
