This is so sad. This tragedy reminds me of the Wauwatosa, Wisconsin Police Officer Jennifer Sebena tragedy. Jennifer was shot in the head by a coward also...her husband. Rest in Peace Celena. You and Jennifer will never be forgotten.

It is always sad when someone who devotes their live to helping others passes away but doubly so when it is senseless. I hope her daughter always remembers her Mom as a giving and devoted person. Rest easy

So damned sad. RIP sweet girl who just wanted to protect others. No heart is bigger than that of a Police Officer. People just don't seem to realize that somehow. I pray that your daughter has the best life ever and is reminded all the time how brave her mother was.

You have laid down my life in service.
You have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between safety and victimization.
You now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, you have left behind those who loved and depended upon you.
You have given your life so that others may live in peace.
My partners and my agency, we will always remember your family, their loss, and will never let time soften our compassion for them.
You guard the gate now and continue watch from above.

Celena, I still think about the night you died and it still breaks my heart because there was nothing we could do to save you, no matter how desperately we wanted to. You didn't deserve this and it still doesn't make sense. But you're not forgotten, you never will be to me at least. Our short interaction forever changed me and I strive to live my life as you did. Thank you for all you did, we miss you.
