Charley was one of the best men I have ever known. His service to the Town of Laverne and Harper County was top notch. I will miss him greatly. But our loss is Heavens gain! Charley was a strong Christian man and for those who have placed their lives in the hands of Jesus, we will see him again!

As you suffer this morning, let me say you are not alone. We all suffer when we loose one of our own. Most Reserve Officers donate their time and work many hours for their Department just so we can live in a peaceful place. WE want to thank you for all you did for your community and may God Bless your family, Department & give them understanding as we do what we do all the time keeping the peace. You know it has been said that it is something that is born into you. Assist and give back so we all can live in peace. GOD BLESS YOU IN A MIGHTY WAY and keep you safe.

As a fellow reserve police officer, this tragedy hits sepecially close to home. Most of the citizens that reserve officers serve and protect do not realixe that they give up their free time to perform that duty out of a sense of service to their community in lieu of any pay or recognition.
God speed Deputy Coen. Your selfless service and ultimate sacrifice is recognized and we are eternally gratefull. May God be with his family, friends and brothers during this difficult time.

To the family, friends and colleagues of Reserve Deputy Sheriff William Charles Coen, my heart is filled with great sadness at the lost of your loved one and fellow deputy.
We in the law enforcement community both active and retired, having walked the line of good over evil, knowing that at any moment a call for help may require us to make the ultimate sacrifice for our fellow man.
For Law Enforcement is not a job but a calling and only a few will make the decision to commit to that calling to serve for some will give all that they have.
I commend you my fallen brother for making the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of your duty.
You left us doing what you chose to do.
What you were trained to do.
Performing the oath you swore to do.
Most importantly doing what you loved to do.....serving your community making a better and safer place for us all.
Rest in Peace my brother, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!
