Deputy James, although your death was over 95 years ago. I just wanted to say that as a citizen of Martin County, your sacrifice has not been forgotten. And on behalf of the citizens of Martin County, we thank you for paying the ultimate price and for protecting the citizens all those years ago.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. I am privileged to be the first to pay tribute to you. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 87th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Your family is in my heart's embrace. Rest In Peace.
