Reflections for Police Officer George Mon Cheng Wong

Dear George,

We were hired into the same Academy class groupings, mine was 86-94.
But, I still did not know you until we were both assigned to NSU 4, which at the time was on East 94 Street in Manhattan.
It was instantly clear to anyone who ever met you, that you were an extremely nice Guy, with an amazing and very pleasant personality.
I am absolutely sure that you are now one of God's Angels.

Brother George...on this 6th anniversary that you have left your brothers and sisters of the N.Y.P.D. I want to thank you for your service and ultimate sacrifice at the 'Hole. You are not forgotten because when your name is mentioned you are alive. I remember being there during those dark days, and, when ever I'm called to leave this place it will be my honor to meet you and to tell you that you were not forgotten for your heroism. Rest well my friend.

I am privileged to be the first to pay tribute to you. Your heroism and service is honored today, the first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know their pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Our nation will never forget our 9/11 heroes.

Rest In Peace.
