Reflections for Probation / Parole Officer Jeffery Matthew McCoy

My God be with the family during this most trying time.

Assistant Chief Parole Officer
Georgia Parole Board

Every morning I came in to work, I would walk down a row of offices here at Central District Community Corrections and Jeff McCoy’s office was the last one on the right before I turned the corner. He would be there early on a lot of mornings, working away. Now his office door is shut and a red rose sits on the door handle. I love all our officers here at Central District Community Corrections. They do an amazing service helping offenders be productive members of society and in protecting the public. I am so proud of them and the job that they do!! I pray for the safety of all the probation and parole officers across the country. Please know that you are appreciated.

CDCC District Supervisor's Secretary

Jeff, I guess now I m forced to ask for a key to unlock the gate. One a week Jeff would show up just in the nick of time to open the gate for mr to get a car for the filed because I did not have one. He would always say, "Kashondra, they just don't trust you huh, with the keys" we would laugh and go anout out our daily duties. Jeff you are greatly missed. To the family, Look to the hills from whence cometh your help, your help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and earth. Be Blessed!!!

I had the opportunity to work with Jeff on the parole team at CDCC in Oklahoma City for several years. Jeff always treated the parolees on his case load with dignity and respect but made sure that they knew he would hold them accountable. He was a great team member and was always willing to help other officers. He was a dedicated officer and a great guy to work with. Our offices were adjacent to one another and there were many times when Jeff and I would talk about various topics. He often spoke of his parents, as well as his wife and children. He was a dedicated son, husband and father as well. We have lost a good man and he will be missed by all those who knew him.
