Reflections for Probation / Parole Officer Jeffery Matthew McCoy

Jeff, better known as Chief a awesome youngman , the first one that i would come incontact with an a chance to say Good Morning Chief.

To the entire family I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

We give thanks for the life of Jeff McCoy . We recall the qualities in Jeff that made us love him. We thank you for all the good influences he made upon the lives of others. We thank you for the truth that passed from Jeff into the lives of others. Thier lives are richer becasue of it.

O Lord guide us all the day long in this troublesome life, until the shadow lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed. Support us until the fever of life is over and our work is done. then, of your mercy, grant us a safe lodging and holy rest in that place you have prepared for us .

Lift us into the light of your coutenance. Cause your light to shine upon us that our sorrow can be turned into prayer. As is your majesty,so is your mercy . In your will is our peace. May this faith grow in us until the wounds of parting are healed by the assurance of reunion. Lead us by the still waters and sit us in pastures of graces.

Such great pain is felt because such an honorable man was taken. Life is often talked about as a dash, the time from your birth to death. I am glad to know Jeff’s dash included him being a son to be proud of, a dedicated husband and father, a diligent worker as well as God fearing. Not everyone can claim such a commendable life. RIP knowing you are greatly respected.

One reads the comments of colleagues, family, and friends and know this man, this officer made a difference. It's what Parole Officers do. Many of us work as Jeff McCoy did, solo, on placements and other field duties not expecting it can go so wrong so quickly. But it did.
Eternal rest to you, Officer Mccoy. Strength and blessings to your family and friends.

Brother McCoy,

I never met you, but you ARE my brother. We didn't get into this field to make money (although that would have been nice). We got into this field to do good work to better our communities for our families. From what I've read, you made quite an impression on your fellow Oklahoma officers, and likely made the same impression on your clients. We have a tough job, but I know that your passing means that your family, both at home and in probation/parole, have another angel to watch over us and protect us. We have the watch from here, brother. Rest in love.

I remember Jeff always being very professional and wanting to do his job to the best of his ability, but that is not the first thing that comes to mind when I think of him. Jeff used to always talk about his wife, his two children and his church. I don't know how many times he would say, "I got to get out of the office today on time, I have a Cub Scout meeting tonight." He was a Christian and a family man. That is what was most important to him, and that will be his legacy. We will miss you at the office.

For our time was short, thank you for kindness that you gave to me, you always answered my questions, no matter how busy you were with your own caseload. As our department comforts one another through this, please know you may rest in peace for we will not forget you and your family's dedication and sacrifice.
As I walk past your office, please know that you always will continue to remind each of us, simply how precious life really is ...in turn helping us. To you, Jeff. Thank you. To your family, my deepest sympathy.

I had the distinct pleasure of working closely with Jeff the last 7 years. He was a dedicated officer, sincere in assisting his offenders, and even more sincere in assisting his co-workers. He could always be relied upon to help others, regardless of the task. Everyone who worked with him liked him. His family lost a great man, and the department a great officer. Although sorrow fills my heart because I have lost him, I am overwhelmed with grief for the loss his wife, children and parents are experiencing. I am privileged to have had the opportunity to know Jeff.

May God comfort in this time of sorrow your family, your fellow officers and all those whose lives you have touched. May you RIP brother, we’ll take it from here.

To the McCoy Family and all law enforcement officers who put there lives on the line 'everyday' for our public safety. It is not unusual for any of us to ponder what it will be like when we face our final moments on earth. But those who "die in the Lord" have the certainty that they are "blessed" (Rev. 14:13) and that their death is "precious in the sight of the Lord" (Psalm 116:15). McCoy family be comforted by these scriptural readings & those written in 1Thess. 4:13-18. Thoughts and prayers are with the family as they go through this difficult time of bereavement, be encouraged.
