Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Brian Edward Hayden
Brian, we laid you to rest yester with hearts heavy with grief and minds numb with disbelief. This loss seems so overwhelming to everyone who knows you, Tabby, Sampson, and your wonderful family. God placed in you a bright light that touched so many people through your huge smile, contageous laughter, and your wonderful sense of humor. You were a husband, son, father, brother, uncle, friend, patriot, hero, role model, and an inspiration to more people that I think you ever realized. Your loss leaves a huge hole that will not ever be filled. Those of us left behind mourn, not for you because we know you have gone to be with your Savior Jesus, but for ourselves because we miss having you here with us. You watched over us for 20 years in the Air Force and for many more years as a police officer. Your sense of duty never faded and never tired. You would have been so proud of Sampson. He did a wonderful job watching over you and providing love and comfort to Tabby and your parents. Cody was honored and priviledged to handle Sampson during the funeral and only want to do his best to honor you. I know you would have been proud of him too. Tabby is an amazingly strong woman and has been handling your loss with a grace that I know comes from Jesus and you, standing quietly behind her supporting her still. I pray in the days and weeks and years to come, the rest of us left behind can step up and provide her with the support and comfort that I know she will need. I thank your parents and your sister and the rest of your family for sharing you with us. Our lives are definitely much richer for it. Thank you for the years of friendship and service you have given so many. You will never be forgotten.

You were there for my entire career at Tinker with the 72nd SFS. You were a true leader, mentor, and friend. I still remember going TDY with you to California. It was a long TDY, but was my favorite. You really are the one who instilled the learning nature I use today. Trying to have every answer for every question. You were always about solutions. I always appreciated that about you. I miss you brother, and you left us way too soon. I felt like it was just yesterday talking to you on Facebook, and now you're gone. Rest in Peace Msgt Hayden, you are truly missed.
