Reflections for Sergeant Maxwell Robert Dorley
For Sergeant Maxwell Dorley:
Among the many risks in law enforcement is the operation of a motor vehicle. Statistics support that the law officer is placed more at risk during emergency responses to incidents than almost at any other time. Constant vigilance and the use of lights & siren are no guarantee that we will be safe.
We regret the loss of Maxwell and pray for his family, friends, co-workers and those who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another at this time.
We are proud to render Sergeant Maxwell Dorley, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

A Life In Christ Is A Life Of A Journey With A Beautiful Resting Place ......To The Family And Friends Of Sergeant Maxwell Dorley ....Heart Felt Sympathies ....
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died...1 Thessalonians 4:13–14...

From the night I started working third shift Max was someone I respected and looked up to. He was bidded in 17 car which at the time meant something. He treated everyone fairly and with respect but at the same time was not some one to mess with. He was as tough as they come. Max was a guy you could go to for guidance and advice...he would never judge you for it, he truly wanted you to be a better cop, sometimes he gave you advice whether you wanted it or not. He was always talking about his wife and children with such enthusiasm. He greeted you with a huge smile and a warm greeting despite your time on the job, stature or rank... The last time I saw him was a couple days ago, in passing and from a distance. We nodded at each other and said a quick hello, never knowing it would be our last. I remember meeting up with him to donate my old uniforms and traffic vests to send to Liberia. That really tells you what kind of guy he was. I can only hope to be the cop he was.

The morning of Sergeant Dorley's death our entire Providence College campus experienced a power outage for a few hours. This was God's way of pausing our world to let reflect on this unfortunate event and keep the family and friends of this officer in mind. Rest in peace.
