My prayers and deepest sympathies go out to the family of Mr. Dorley. I attended school with his daughter for the longest time back in elementary and middle school. We were best friends; I remember Mr. Dorley used to pick Amanda up from school. She even came over my house a couple of times. Mr. Dorley was a good man, good father, and husband. Years may have gone by but the memories will always be there. RIP MR. DORLEY, you are in a better place....you are missed by many.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

To know him was to love him, he was always a smiling face on and off duty. He definitely was a blessing to have met, a true gentleman. I knew Maxwell as the neighborhood officer as he would patrol the Chad Brown projects and also a friend. I give my total respect to him even in his passing, because its not to often that you find someone that treated his job and personal life as one. My blessings, strength, and love go out to his family.

A sad day for law enforcement, a sad month, year, decade. Sgt. Dorley, the scene shown on the news of how your cruiser rested after the accident was heart wrenching. The Providence PD is now at a loss. I've always found the men and women of the Providence PD to be terrific people, the finest, now one of the finest has been taken and cannot be replaced.
My prayers go out to your colleagues and family. God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

My heart goes out to you Mrs. Dorley your children, and family. I will always remember Max for his guidance, friendship, passion, and everything he has taught me over the years, as far back as our days sitting in the cafeteria having lunch together in Perry middle school with both of us having the same dreams and paths which to become police officers one day, as we would be each others mentors to one another. He has always been all cop, as long as I have known him, and when needed he would always be there for you thats the type of guy he will be remembered as, also as a devoted husband, and father you will always be my brother Max may you rest in peace you will be sadly missed
