Officer Padron is with our Lord now and watches over his family as only an angel can. I thank him and his entire family for their committment to our community because I know it took not only his dedication but the support of his family to be the kind of officer he was. I pray the lord comforts his family in their time of need and I can only hope it brings them some comfort to know that Office Padron will not be forgotten by the citizens of Austin.

I am truly saddened by the senseless killing of Officer Padron. It is almost senseless to continue contacting the suspect in a common misdemeanor crime. No matter the value of an item taken in a shoplift, diamonds at a jewelry store, or an auto theft, it is not worth the life of and officer.
My thoughts are with the Padron family, and especially the small girls that now have to live with only the memories of their father.

In times such as these when we lose a fellow officer, words are so insufficient. Only God Almighty can comfort his family, friends, and fellow officers and give them a peace that passeth all understanding.
My prayers and thoughts go out to this brave officer's loved ones. May God hold them close.
Be safe!
