John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Getting close to yet another anniversary without you. I'm preparing for a hike to the very top of Texas that day in your honor & for all fallen officers. You know this will totally be out of my comfort bubble but you'll be happy to know a few of your close friends will be there along with Steve & the kids. Tallest peak in Texas - I'll blow you a kiss from there. Missing you terribly but comforted knowing you'll never be forgotten.

Jaime
We are getting closer to April, and while you are in my thoughts and prayers every day of the year, the month of April indeed is difficult. I will never forget our times together, such as:
- Learning about your wife's pregnancy while we ate at Red Lobster
- Our discussion and expanding on the definition of "Protect and Serve"
- The only thing Black and White on the job is the Patrol Car
- You telling me that a guy named "Jose" unknown-last-name from Acuña was moving dope to San Angelo. Come on bro really. We still can't find him.
- Other misc good times.
It is important that you know, your EOW has triggered:
- Close and greater bonding with the Padron family.
- Reflections and "lessons" on how to steer the course of my own life. Thank you for being a teacher and advisor from 2012 to Present
- My Re-prioritizing of what is "really" important
- Hyper awareness (admittedly this can be detrimental) in regards to officer safety and threats on "the street"
You will never be forgotten mi hermano.
Te amo mucho

You were taken from us 3 yrs ago, today. You would be so proud of our babies, I guess they're not babies anymore. Not a day has gone by that we don't think/talk about you. We know that you are with us, but it's not the same. We miss you and love you, always.

I was an Observer at the CLEAT Conference in McAllen in 2012 when I heard of this tragedy. I had the honour of meeting Jaime's wife and children too. A colleague of Jaime gave me a Blue Knights patch in Memory of Jaime. I'm returning to Texas this year to participate in the 2015 Ride for the Fallen. I'll be proudly wearing Jaime's patch on my vest on the ride to remember him, his family, colleagues and all fallen officers. RIP Mate.
