I graduated from the police academy with Mike nearly 11 years ago. I remember his great sense of humor and the fact that he was just one of those guys you knew you could trust. Rest in Peace Mike. You died while keeping others safe. "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends". My thoughts and prayers go out to Mike, CCSO, and his beautiful family.

I worked wth Mike on the midnight shift for the last two years. I was his dispatcher this morning when he took his last call. He was an amazing deputy, family man, and friend. Two years of midnights with the same dispatcher and deputy makes a bond that can't be described in words. He wasn't my co worker, he was my friend. I cannot explain the emptiness that I feel. From this closeness that we had I want everyone to know what a loss this is for his family, CCSO, and the community. He always had a smile, a joke, or a prank to play. I was the victim of most of them. I wouldn't change a single minute. He may be gone in body but his spirit will remain in the hearts of all that knew and loved him. May you rest in peace Mikey. We love you.
