As we mark the 89th anniversary of your murder, I came back to your page to tell you that you are not forgotten, will always be remembered by the City of Stanford Police Department and that while investigating the circumstances of your murder, I learned that my Grandfather Victor C. Gilliland, at that time the County Court Clerk of Lincoln County, was an Honorary Pallbearer for your funeral service. Godspeed Chief..

I am honored to have ridden a bicycle 250+ miles from Chesapeake, VA to Washington, DC for Law Enforcement United in memory of Chief of Police Thomas D. Martin EOW 05-16-1931.

I have a metal bracelet with his memorial information on it that I rode with and would like to pass it along to your family. If you are interested please contact me at your convenience.

Thomas Dewey Martin was my Great-Grandfather. He was father to my Father's Mother, Gladys Martin. Grandma Gladys used to tell us stories of the turmoil that followed his death. I'm researching the family history through Ancestry.com and just happened to do a Google search, since I could find little information on this branch of the family, and found this site. It is very touching.

I'm currently having trouble finding much about about his wife, Ann Seylor. If anyone has informaion on her or her parents/siblings, please contact me. pdm4320 - at - gmail.com. Thank you!

Chief it was an honor bestowed on me by the current Stanford chief to investigate and report the facts of your last day of service to our community. Though you had been gone over 80 years, I hope that this brings honor and remembrance to you and your family. Thank you and rest in peace Chief Tommy Martin, S.P.D.

Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
