Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 77thth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

I was at the candle light vigil Sunday evening in Washington DC when his name was read. While 76 years is a lengthy time to wait, it was the perfect time from my perspective since I wasn't there for an officer from Washington state but also from the Samp family. Thanks to those who did the research to bring his sacrifice to light.

Officer Samp,
It took many years for us to hear of your passing and how it occurred. Captain Dan Risse did an outstanding job of researching the murder to find out that it was a line of duty death. It was many years, but you are not forgotten. Your sacrifice will now be honored as your name will be put on the wall in Madison and DC this year. RIP your brothers and sisters have your watch.
