Dear Mrs. White and children,

Today your life has forever been changed by the evil in our world. Mrs. White, please know that you and your children are in my prayers. I know the feelings, emotions, anguish, heartache and disbelief you are going through. Take one day at a time, no rush decisions, and keep those babies close to you. They will give you the strength you need to carry on.

I lost my husband in January of 2010 and I pray every day that nobody else has to live with the hurt we do each and every day. Chad has been gone for 25 months. I'm praying for God's grace to provide you with the strength and courage you need during this tough time. As the days and weeks pass, other peoples lives will return to normal...just know that I know and understand that your life will never be "normal" again. However, with God's grace and mercy we are putting our best foot forward and making the best of our circumstances.

There is an organization called C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) who sole existence is to help families deal with the loss of an officer in the line of duty. They have helped us so much. We will be getting information to you soon.

God bless you and your family. Know that you are always in our prayers.

To the officers of Clay County S.O.: you are also in my thoughts and prayers.

Holly Reed, Widow of Capt. Chad Reed, Sr
E.O.W. 1-14-2010 Dixie Co. S. O.

In Honor Of Detective David White...A true HERO!
A hero is defined as: a man or woman distinguished by exceptional courage and nobility and strength; someone who fights for a cause; a person who is greatly admired.
Some qualities of a hero:
1. Sacrifice: it’s the forfeiture of something highly valued for the sake of one considered to have a greater value or claim. Our Law Enforcement Officers offer us the greatest gift every minute they are on duty; the risk and sacrifice of their own lives for our personal safety and well being.
2. Determination: a fixed intention or resolution; a firmness of purpose.
3. Loyalty: feeling of allegiance or the act of binging oneself to a course of action.
4. Courage: firmness of spirit to meet danger without fear.
5. Dedication: selfless devotion
6. Selfless: quality of unselfish concern for the welfare of others with less concern for yourself.
7. Conviction: a fixed or strong belief; a necessity of the mind or an unshakable belief.
8. Focus: the ability to direct one’s energy toward a specific purpose.
A hero is also someone who saves your life in an indirect way; someone who inspires you to move on and move forward through your own personal tragedy.
A hero is someone who inspires you to turn your tragedy into something positive to help make a difference and give you and your life new meaning.
A hero is someone who continuously honors and remembers the sacrifice that your hero/loved one has made.
There are heroes who touch our hearts deeply and impact our lives so tremendously, without even knowing they do…….
THANK GOD FOR HEROES!
