To Detective White and his family, friends, and co-workers:
Our family extends our deepest sympathies. Because of your loved one's devotion to duty both military and law-enforcement this world was made safer and a better place but because of this great sacrifice your lives are changed forever. We honor his life and service. He obviously was a giver not a taker.
God give you comfort and strength to go on.

May God welcome his newest hero. The men and women who look out for the citizens are never appreciated as they should be, what has happened to your family is a grim reminder of why the officers deserve our respect and support.

My husband and I were saddened by the news of the death of one of our wonderful and brave Clay County Detectives. Every time I see an officer, I thank them because they risk their lives every day to protect us. We all need to remember that. They are heroes too. Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Detective White. We live near this house and are grateful to the Clay County Sheriff's Office that they were able to confirm it and act. That takes guts! Thank you all and remember you have our undying gratitude. God Bless Detective White and his family and friends.

HE’S WALKING A BEAT IN HEAVEN,
WITH A NEW PARTNER TO HELP HIM ON,
UP BEFORE THE FIRST LIGHT OF MORNING,
WITH A SAD SMILE GREETING THE NEW DAWN.
HIS BADGE GLOWS BRIGHTLY WITH GLORY,
HIS BOOTS ARE STILL SHINY BLACK,
FOR THERE’S NOT MUCH DUST IN HEAVEN,
EXCEPT FOR SOME STARDUST ON HIS HAT.
THERE’S NOT MUCH TO DO,
FOR A COP IN BLUE,
ON HEAVEN’S LONELY BEAT.
DRY A LITTLE ONE’S TEARS,
SOOTHE AWAY SOME FEARS,
OR JUST WALK THE GOLDEN STREETS.
HEAVEN CAN BE,
A SAD PLACE TO BE,
FOR A COP WHO FELL TOO SOON.
WALKING THIS LONELY BEAT,
AMONG THE SUN’S FADING HEAT,
HE SMILES SADLY AT THE RISING NEW MOON.
ONCE IN A WHILE,
A STRAY TEAR WILL FALL,
EVEN THOUGH HEAVEN’S NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE ANY PAIN.
THINKING ABOUT THE WIFE,
HE LEFT BEHIND,
HIS ARMS ACHE TO HOLD HER JUST ONCE AGAIN.
HE’S WALKING A BEAT IN HEAVEN,
WITH OTHERS WHO FELT THE FALL,
BROTHERS TO ONE ANOTHER,
THEIR NAMES PROUDLY ON THE WALL.
