God takes all the good people, he really does, and he leaves the rest of us here to work on getting ourselves to the point that he can take us. I pray for your family and the Atlanta Police Department family to be strong and to remember that you are in a better place. We go out every work day, not knowing if we will come home. But it is a chance we take for the betterment of society. Please know that you will not be forgotten. My Deepest Sympathy. Rest In Peace, Officer Thomas.

SPO Gail Thomas, as a civilian I cannot explain to you the level of affection and deep respect I feel for police officers. There are so many of us that could never display the type of courage it takes to put that uniform and badge on everyday. You are loved by the people of your community and we will pray fiercely for your family, on duty and off. Thank you for your service. You are an angel.

As an Investigator with the Atlanta Police when I first met Gail I called her Officer Thomas. I was politely told to call her Gail. I always remembered the smile and how pleaseant she always seemed to be. She had transported a suspect to our office one day. While he was there he said something like this to me, "Detective, tell that lady police I'm sorry for saying what I said. She was just doing her job. She was nice to me. Tell her I'm really sorry and thank you." She was the kind of Officer we should all strive to be.

My dear Gail; when I got the call Tuesday night & learned what happened, my heart dropped. I arrived on scene & I didn't think I would be able to do my job. Gail, you will truly be missed. Your radiant smile, your giving heart; you don't find these qualities everyday. You had both & so much more to offer. Whenever I saw you, that radiant smile was ALWAYS on your face & that is something that I will always remember about you. We love you & will miss you. May you rest in the arms of the Lord my sister in BLUE.

I did not know officer Thomas for very long, but our friendship and connection was amazing. She was a woman with an outstanding spirt and a beautiful smile that I think about throughout the day. I will greatly miss our talks and many loud laughs. She spoke very highly of her baby girl and she will always be in my prayer's as well. I thank God for the opportunity to know and be around her. Sleep well and rest in peace my friend.
