JAMES I THACKER=UNIT 71 OF THE PIKE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPT. WAS NOT ONLY ONE OF MY CO- WORKERS,BUT WAS ALSO ONE OF MY CLOSEST FRIENDS. WE RODE TOGETHER A LOT AND TRAVELED TOGETHER . WHEN JAMES FIRST STARTED WE SPENT A LOT OF TIME TOGETHER,I SHOWED HIM ALOT ABOUT THE WAY THE SHERIFF DEPT. DONE THEIR PROCESSES AND CITATIONS,AT THAT TIME HE WAS OUR CONSTABLE. I ALSO LEARNED ALOT FROM JAMES,HE WAS A KIND AND HAPPY PERSON ALL THE TIME,BUT WHEN IT CAME TO HIS DUTIES HE WAS SERIOUS. JAMES HAS BEEN MISSED BY ME SINCE THE CALL CAME IN ABOUT HIS ACCIDENT.=R.I.P. Deputy Thacker never failed to end a phone conversation with me or leave the dispatch center without saying "I appreciate you". James was a very honorable man and an overwhelmingly dedicated officer.
