"Correctional Officer's Farewell"
We all know it can happen,
When we put our Colors on.
It only takes an instant,
Then one of us is gone.
Day to day we walk our beat,
In God we put our faith.
'Cause we're the law inside the wall,
We keep the Public safe.
You've done the job that few can do,
Your shift is at an end.
Farewell my *sister*, Rest in peace,
On you we could depend.

I am saddened by the tragic loss of this correction officer, and I am certain that her fellow officers will miss her greatly and grieve her passing.
I did not know her personally, but without question she was a hero - a hero that Romans 13: 1-7 refers to as "God's servant for [our] good."
My sincere condolences to Sergeant Ester's husband, family, and Department. May the Lord's grace, peace, and comfort be yours, giving understanding to your loss - the loss of another hero.

My sincerest Condolences to You: The Officers and Family of Sergeant Barbara Ester. I would never have known or met her, but as a Corrections Nurse I have seen the pain wrought by the worst of the worst. I cannot express my internal fury here so I must simply say: Heal soon friends, but never forget..the job we do is a dangerous one and sometimes we wonder: Is Public Safety worth the price that we might be called to pay? The answer, painful as it is, is yes. I would lay down my life in an instant for my Corrections Brothers. I would stand toe to toe with them in the face of adversity as they would for me! May the good Lord shower blessings upon you...may justice be swift and certain..may she always be in our Hearts and Minds. Peace, Love and Joy to you all.

So sorry to hear of such a senseless tragedy. Inmates like this are no more than rabid pit bulls and should be destroyed. They will always have to be watched and are always dangerous to anyone. All the best to Barbara's family and the Arkansas Corrections dept
