Mere words can not express the sorrow that is felt by loved ones, fellow officers and the officers who never had the pleasure of meeting Sgt. Ester. As I read through the comments it was agreed that she was a great officer, she fought the good fight, but God decided he needed another good Angel to watch over the rest of us still here. My sympathies go out to family, loved ones, friends and co-workers. Know she is now changed positions, on for another task. She is now our guardian angel! Rest in peace Sgt. Ester.

On behalf of Evening Watch at Metropolitan Detention Center Los Angeles, California we also grieve at your loss. Correctional Staff perform in selfless duty with no tools to defend themselves with besides verbal persuassion. It is such a shame that this occurred.
We honor Barbara's life even though we never met her. All females in this business represent her and her attention to detail in discovering contraband. We sincerely hope and pray someone with guts risks their careers and stands up to gutless Congress and make some damn changes, giving us the tools we need and deserve.
Lord provide us peace and safety, have mercy on each one of us and our families. Amen!
