• A PART OF AMERICA DIED....
Somebody killed a policeman today .... And a part of America died…. A piece of our country he swore to protect .... Will be buried with him at his side.... The beat that he walked was a battlefield too,.... Just as if he had gone off to war, .... Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half-mast .... To his name they will add a gold star.... The suspect that shot him will stand up in court .... With counsel demanding his rights,.... While a young widowed mother must work for her kids .... And spend many long, lonely nights... .. Yes, somebody killed a policeman today…. Maybe in your town or mine,.... While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors.... A cop put his life on the line.... Now his ghost walks the beat on a dark city street, .... And he stands at each new rookie's side; .... He answered the call… of himself gave his all,.... And a part of America died.
Rest in peace Agent Francom.

Sorry to have lost another brother to violence. I hope that this country realizes that Law Enforcement needs a different and more aggressive approach sooner than later in order to protect the innocent. We are not expendable. Agent Francom, thank you for serving this country. We will miss you.

To the family of Officer Francom I am praying for your family. I am not an officer but the daughter of a officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty August 5, 1995 So I know how this feels to loose a father. They gave the ultimate sacrifice while we gave as well. So many times they go un-noticed until something goes wrong. Please know that we here in Georgia are deeply saddned by your loss and keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Lord be with those who are grieving, give them the strength to feel their loss while continuing to serve just the next day. Give peace to those who won't see Francom at work, or the next barbecue or poker party. God please console the wife and children whose daddy didn't come home from work. Give comfort and strength to the mother and father who's child should never precede them in death. Peace be with you all.

ONLY A MOMENT
Dear Lord,
It was only a moment, but in that moment of madness our world changed.
In that moment countless lives were changed.
Hearts were broken, and names previously unknown are now spoken with reverence.
In only a moment the Line of Blue stretching out across our nation was broken – that hard, fast, steady line was breached.
In moments like these all citizens become a part of the Line of Blue.
Momentarily we feel defenseless – but only for a moment.
In only a moment the Line of Blue re-forms, drawing a circle around us to restore our hope.
Our tears dry, our broken hearts comforted, weak knees strengthened and sanity restored – the Line of Blue – our shield of protection still stands.
The moment passes, but in that moment we mourn for the life that was taken and grieve for the survivors. Remembering the sacrifice made to protect and serve.
It was only a moment – but they are gone, a sacrifice made to give us a future.
We pause in our sorrow reflecting what might have been… but them we press on for, by the Grace of God, the Line of Blue still stands! Amen!
